Biden will announce today the termination of trade relations with Russia

On Friday, US President Joe Biden will unveil measures to continue holding Russia accountable for its "unjustified war on Ukraine," the White House said.

And US media reported leaks related to the measures that Biden will reveal, including ending trade relations with Russia.

The leaks indicated that Biden would make way for more tariffs on Russian imports.

According to the leaks, the announcement will be alongside leaders from the European Union and the Group of Seven industrialized countries, without clarification by the media sources about more details in this particular regard, and if it will be via a video call or in another way.

On Thursday evening, the US Congress approved a new budget for the federal government, which includes a huge funding of about 13.6 billion dollars to help Ukraine.

The text, which notes an economic and a humanitarian aspect, in addition to funds that will be allocated to supply Kyiv with weapons and ammunition, was approved by the Senate with a majority of both parties, a day after its approval in the House of Representatives.

With his exit from Congress, the budget bill will be referred to President Biden for approval and promulgation as an effective law.

The White House welcomed the passage of the legislation, which aims to avoid shutting down government activities before a midnight deadline on Friday when current government funding expires.

White House spokeswoman Jen Psaki said Biden looks forward to signing the legislation, with its "historic support for the Ukrainian people in their defense of their country and democracy."
