The administrative court of Melun (Seine-et-Marne) canceled an order issued by the mayor of Chauconin-Neufmontiers (Seine-et-Marne) in April 2020. The latter made the agreement of the occupant of a dwelling compulsory before installing a Linky electricity meter.
Consent had to be obtained in writing and the municipality had to be alerted.
“Costly, intrusive and incomprehensible” counters
The town hall, quoted by
La Marne
, thus intended to limit the establishment of connected boxes, deemed “expensive, intrusive and incomprehensible”.
Enedis had turned to justice to stop this measure and was therefore heard.
3.8 million French households were not equipped with a Linky meter at the end of 2021.
Enedis claimed that their refusal generated additional costs linked to the absence of a remote consumption statement.
The Energy Regulation Commission (CRE) has decided that households that do not have a Linky meter and do not communicate their energy consumption figures will be liable for a supplement from 2022.
