Voting intentions in the first round of the 2022 presidential election

Despite a desired discreet entry into the campaign and a still complicated international context, the outgoing president is continuing his excellent momentum in the polls.

Indeed, Emmanuel Macron continues to progress in the latest surveys of the various pollsters, and systematically reaches 30% of voting intentions in the first round, until reaching 33.5% in the last

Elabe

poll of March 8.

In this context, only two candidates seem to be stabilizing or progressing.

In all the statements, Marine Le Pen retains second place, with 17 to 18% of voting intentions.

Jean-Luc Mélenchon, candidate for France Insoumise, continues to rise in the polls and overtakes Valérie Pécresse and Eric Zemmour for the first time in the latest

Elabe

survey , with 13% of voting intentions, against 10.5 and 11 respectively. % for the two candidates on the right.

As far as the Socialist Party is concerned, the withdrawal of Christiane Taubira does not seem to benefit Anne Hidalgo at all.

Indeed, the latter would collect only 1.5% of the vote, a score that has been in constant decline for several weeks.

Opinion Way

give the outgoing President a 16-point lead (58% voting intentions), the largest gap since December 2021.

Second round hypothesis: Emmanuel Macron against Jean-Luc Mélenchon

If Jean-Luc Mélenchon seems to be one of the candidates with one of the best dynamics in the first round, this does not seem to translate into the hypothesis of a second round against Emmanuel Macron.

As against Valérie Pécresse or Eric Zemmour, the outgoing president would win with a significant advantage over the representative of France Insoumise, who currently only collects 31 to 37% of voting intentions in the second round, according to the latest readings.
