However, the Compagnie de l'Odet, the family holding company chaired by Vincent Bolloré which owns 64% of the group, has at the same time announced a 20% increase in its dividend to 3.6 euros per share.

This company also announced the appointment of Sébastien Bolloré, the CEO's eldest son, to the operational position of Deputy Chief Executive Officer, and the purchase of 6 million Vivendi shares, now controlled at 29.5%, very close to the threshold. triggering a public offer.

In terms of activities, the turnover of the Bolloré group is close to 20 billion euros, up 19%.

Vivendi contributed 9.6 billion euros, up 10%, thanks to the performance of the Canal+ television group, the rebound in advertising activity for Havas and the boom in the book market for Editis .

The distribution by Vivendi of 60% of UMG to its shareholders, including Bolloré, which now owns 18% of the major, allows the group to show a net profit of 6 billion euros, against 426 million euros in 2020. Without this exceptional capital gain, Bolloré's net profit stands at some 320 million euros.

-Firm offer from MSC expected at the end of March-

The transport and logistics branch saw its revenues jump 26% to 7.3 billion euros, "benefiting from strong levels of activity in the maritime and air sectors", while the subsidiary Bolloré Africa Logistics, which is the object of exclusive negotiations for a sale to the shipowner MSC, rose by 9%.

MSC, which plans to acquire 100% of Africa Logistics for 5.7 billion euros, has until the end of March to submit a firm offer for the assets of this branch.

The CEO of the Cyrille Bolloré group, accompanied according to the media by the former President of the Republic, close to the family, Nicolas Sarkozy, is trying for his part to convince the African countries concerned of the interest of authorizing the sale of sometimes strategic assets, including 16 port concessions, and rail infrastructure in more than 20 countries on the continent.

"The completion of the sale would be subject to obtaining regulatory authorizations and the competent competition authorities as well as the agreement of some of Bolloré Africa Logistics' counterparties", explains the group in its press release.

Revenues from oil logistics increased by 32% to 2.5 billion euros, "thanks to the rise in prices of petroleum products and volumes".

Finally, the increase in sales of batteries and electric buses enabled the group's electricity storage business to post growth of 32% to 370 million euros, but generated an operating loss (EBITA) of 117 million. euros, due in particular to the increase in the cost of raw materials.

Some media have reported in recent days on an attempt to bring together the Bolloré group and the Dassault group, owner of the daily Le Figaro, Dassault Aviation and Dassault Systèmes: information described as "rumors" by a source close to the group at AFP.
