The Director of Sustainability Operations at Expo 2020 Dubai, Dina Storey, confirmed that the international exhibition was honored by the international and European standard for gender equality;
It is a new achievement added to the list of global achievements of the "Expo" platform in the UAE.
She explained that the award of the "Expo Dubai" represents the commitment of the international event on a larger scale to gender equality, pointing out that the idea of the award is to discuss equality between men and women in all fields, noting that 53% of the workers in the "Expo Dubai" are women, They are led by Reem bint Ibrahim Al Hashemi, Minister of State for International Cooperation and Director General of the Expo 2020 Dubai office.
Dina Story described the international certificates as a tribute to the continued commitment of the "Dubai Expo" to gender equality in the workplace, adding that "sustainability in its comprehensive concept is not only environmental, but there is social and economic sustainability as well, and for us, the work team at (Expo Dubai) focused on Social sustainability besides environmental and economic sustainability, and we have other international certificates obtained in the fields of sustainability, including (Leeds) and (ISO 20121).”
On the important messages and post-Expo 2020 Dubai gains, Story explained that the legacy of the “Dubai Expo” is not only in the buildings, but also goes beyond the international awards and certificates he received, the work methodology, concepts and solutions offered, the principles of gender equality and women’s empowerment.
The Director of Sustainability Operations at Expo 2020 Dubai praised the role of the ambitious team, stressing that the award represents an honor for her as a woman, being an integral part of the Dubai Expo team.

Expo Dubai was awarded the International and European Standard for Gender Equality coinciding with the celebration of International Women’s Day, under the slogan “Breaking Prejudice”, which forms part of the “Man and Planet” program launched by “Expo Dubai” within thematic weeks. The first World Expo to have a separate women's pavilion in more than 50 years.
