Trump plane emergency landing due to engine failure

A plane carrying former US President Donald Trump made an emergency landing after one of its engines failed, shortly after take-off.

The Washington Post, citing data from the ADSBexchange.com tracking site, said that the plane that took off from New Orleans Airport, Louisiana, last Saturday evening, took off about 100 kilometers and was at an altitude of about 28 thousand feet before it had to return to the airport.

The plane was carrying Trump from a hotel in New Orleans, where he was there for a fundraiser, to his Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Beach, Florida.

The plane was forced to return, over water, to the airport, shortly before 11 pm and then landed safely, according to people familiar with the incident.

Besides Trump, the plane was carrying Secret Service agents, some Trump advisers and support staff.
