This weekend, two Ukrainian families are expected to land in Umeå.

The plan is for them to live in the family Akgöz apartment, a third in Holmsund.

There are two mothers and three sons aged 3, 4 and 8 years.

One of the mothers is a friend of the father in the Holmsund family.

- Many have offered everything from a whole sofa to help with clothes.

I believe that there is still a spirit in Sweden since the refugee crisis in 2015, people want to help and know how, says Emma Akgöz.

Many open their homes

Also in Skellefteå, several have offered a place in their homes for refugees.

On Monday alone, around 10-15 people heard about it.

- At present, the willingness to help is greater than the need, which is fantastic and we have saved their contact information, says Linda Larsson, head of Individual and Family Care in Skellefteå.

In Vännäs, Alexandra Nimrodsson and her partner have prepared for a couple from Ukraine who will arrive on Wednesday evening.

The woman is very pregnant.

- Although it feels nervous to invite these strangers home, I really urge you to help, the kindness and joy will come back in one way or another, Alexandra Nimrodsson writes to SVT.

In Vännäs, Alexandra and her partner have decorated the basement before receiving a couple from Ukraine.
