The judicial noose continues to tighten around the far-right American militias who led the assault on the Washington Capitol in January 2021. On Tuesday March 8, Henry "Enrique" Tarrio, the leader of the Proud Boys group, said was arrested at his home in Miami.
On the same day, a member of another militia was sentenced by a court in Washington.

The leader of the
Proud Boys
was arrested at his home in Miami (Florida) in the early morning of Tuesday March 8, still in his underwear.
Henry “Enrique” Tarrio, however, did not participate in
the January 6, 2021 attack on the Capitol
in Washington, due to an arrest.
But this 38-year-old American of Afro-Cuban origin is accused of having led the preparations for the demonstration.
He is charged with criminal conspiracy to disrupt an official process.
According to the Washington prosecutor, Enrique Tarrio was in close contact with
Stewart Rhodes
, his counterpart from another militia, the Oath Keepers, arrested on January 13, 2022, in custody and charged with sedition.

While Enrique Tarrio was arrested, another figure of the American far right was facing justice the same day.
In a Washington court, Guy Reffitt, 49, a member of a third militia, the Three Percenters, was convicted of carrying a prohibited weapon and obstructing official process.
On January 6, 2021, he had led a group of demonstrators on the steps of the Capitol, equipped with a vest and a bulletproof helmet.
According to prosecutors, he had lit the fuse for the very first group of rioters.
His sentence will be known on June 8.
Guy Reffitt faces up to 20 years in prison.
