An entire community faced with a single man.

The criminal court of Digne-les-Bains handled a case in which the village of Saint-Etienne-les-Orgues (Alpes-de-Haute-Provence) is opposed to an entrepreneur specializing in the trade of semi-trailers and other containers , reports

Le Dauphiné Libéré

on Wednesday.

800 euro fine

In March 2019, the latter bought a plot of 2,700 m² with the aim of storing a dozen machines there.

But the municipality claims that this plot can only be exploited for agricultural use.

The owner therefore has two options: leave this natural space or set up an agricultural activity there.

But according to the town hall, the situation has still not been regularized.

In court, she accuses the contractor of having contravened the local urban plan.

"He sells trucks, it has nothing to do with agricultural activity," she laments.

The defendant acknowledged the facts but asked for time to regularize the situation.

He was sentenced to a fine of 800 euros and must bring the land back into compliance within two months at most, under penalty of a penalty of 50 euros per day of delay.
