- The care is very material intensive.

We want to achieve as circular an operation as possible, and then the opportunity to sort must be in the examination rooms, Curt Monfelt, environmental manager at Region Värmland.

These are mainly plastic, paper and cardboard that today are not sorted but thrown away as combustible.

This is what it currently looks like in basically every health center, according to Curt Monfelt.

Depending on what you see for the results of the source sorting at Kronoparken's health center, it may be implemented at other health centers.

One of five parts in the project

In "Sustainable health center", various ways to reduce the care's environmental impact through transport, medicines, waste, energy consumption and materials are tested.

A pilot for wound care was also launched at Kronoparken's health center in the autumn, where the staff received extended training in the area - at the same time as the materials used in wound care were replaced.
