The candidate of the National Rally, Marine Le Pen, obtained for her presidential campaign a loan of 10.7 million euros from a Hungarian bank, according to her declaration of assets published on Tuesday.

A loan that is spread over 16 months

The amount of the loan is 10,691,775 million euros over 16 months, and comes from the Hungarian establishment MKB, according to the statement published by the High Authority for the Transparency of Public Life (HATVP).

In this same document, Marine Le Pen declares a real estate heritage of 1,294.484 million euros, on three properties, located in Morbihan, in Hauts-de-Seine and in Yvelines.

Various remuneration

Her declaration of interests and activities also confirms that the candidate was paid in 2021 as president of the RN although this position has been occupied since September by the former number two of the party Jordan Bardella, who had said to assume this function. "voluntarily".

This remuneration since 2018 has been set at 60,000 euros per year, or 5,000 euros per month.

As MP for Pas-de-Calais, Marine Le Pen also declares 70,773 net taxable euros each year.

Elected departmental councilor in June 2021, she receives 20,764 euros net per year for this function.

The heavily indebted RN

Marine Le Pen had “alert” President Emmanuel Macron to the difficulties of financing the presidential campaign, with candidates “faced with the virtual impossibility of finding financing” from banks.

And who can no longer, since a law of 2017, borrow money from non-European banks.

The RN, which is also heavily indebted, is struggling to finance itself from banks.

For the 2017 campaign, he had borrowed six million euros from the micro-party Cotelec of Jean-Marie Le Pen, and eight million euros from a businessman, Laurent Foucher.

The party then lent these sums to the candidate Marine Le Pen.
