Dirty night for a National Police patrol on Sunday night.
While they saw a drug transaction at a deal point in the heart of the Bellevue district, west of Nantes, three agents tried to arrest a suspect.
A chase begins.
But one of the three police officers finds himself isolated then, suddenly, surrounded by threatening individuals, reports the national police.
The police officer was then beaten up, hit on the limbs and on the head in particular.
Fortunately, his colleagues managed to get him to safety before the situation worsened.
Transferred to the Nantes University Hospital, the assaulted official suffered from head trauma, the police said.
His days are not in danger.
An investigation has been opened.
The suspects have not yet been found.
