The story of the 11-year-old Syrian child, Hassan Al-Khalaf, received remarkable attention from the communication platforms, as the Slovak authorities surprised him at the border with Ukraine, carrying a plastic bag and a passport, without any escorts.

"Thanks to the number on his hand and a piece of paper in his passport, we were able to contact his loved ones who came for him later, and the story ended well," the Slovak police said on its Facebook page, after publishing a number of photos of Hasan al-Khalaf.

Activists in the digital space praised the child's courage, expressing their affection and sympathy for him, especially since he sought refuge from Syria to Ukraine.

Followers re-published the pictures of the child behind the border, accompanied by the comment "from asylum to asylum" and "the journey of asylum."

According to foreign media, Hasan al-Khalaf fled alone from the city of Zaporizhia in southeastern Ukraine, to the Slovakian border, on a journey of 1,500 kilometers that took four days.

According to the same source, his mother allowed him to escape alone because she had to take care of her mother (84 years old), who cannot move.

The Slovak police released a clip of his mother thanking those who took care of her son.
