A cyclist dies hit by a fire truck in Haute-Savoie

A 75-year-old woman was the victim of an accident late Sunday morning in Saint-Pierre-en-Faucigny (Haute-Savoie).

This cyclist was hit by a fire truck, reports France Bleu Pays de Savoie.

Immediately taken care of and airlifted to the Annecy Hospital Center, the septuagenarian finally succumbed to her injuries on Monday.

An open investigation

A gendarmerie investigation has been opened to clarify the circumstances of this tragedy.

According to radio reports, the fire brigade was not on the scene at the time of the collision.
