Their Majesties the Emperor and Empress will attend the ceremony online, the Okinawa venue will be the Okinawa Convention Center in Ginowan City, the Tokyo venue will be a hotel in Tokyo, and Prime Minister Kishida will attend at the Okinawa venue.



It is the first time since 1972 when Okinawa returned to the mainland that the ceremony was held at two venues, Okinawa and Tokyo at the same time.



At a cabinet meeting on the 8th, the government also decided to issue gold and silver coins to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Okinawa's return to the mainland.
