The Beijing Winter Paralympics opened on the evening of the 4th.

On the afternoon of the same day, 10 Taiqing City volunteers also started their "Winter Paralympic Games Time" at the "Civilization House" urban volunteer service station in front of the east gate of Zizhuyuan Park in Haidian District, Beijing.

On March 4, Taiwan Youth City Volunteer Xiao Jiayao took a group photo with "Xue Rongrong" in front of the "Civilization House" urban volunteer service station in front of the east gate of Zizhuyuan Park in Haidian District, Beijing.

"Come on for the Winter Paralympic Games, let's go to the future together." In front of the service station, Taiqing Xiao Jiayao held a microphone and invited citizens and friends to cheer for the Winter Paralympic Games: take a photo with the mascot "Xue Rongrong", participate in sign language teaching, and quiz ...the people on the scene are constantly coming and going.

The postcards, bookmarks and other souvenirs prepared by the volunteers are also very popular.

This unique commemorative gift was designed by volunteers.

Xiao Jiayao introduced to a reporter from China News Agency that the mascots of the Beijing Winter Olympics and the Winter Paralympics "Bing Dun Dun" and "Xue Rong Rong" and Taiwan's unique animals "Black Bear" and "Blue Magpie" are painted on it. The cards let more people know cross-strait culture and understand the Winter Olympics.”

On March 4, Taiwan Youth City Volunteer Lin Jiaxuan (first from left) taught sign language "Together to the Future" to citizens in front of the "Civilization House" urban volunteer service station in front of the east gate of Zizhuyuan Park in Haidian District, Beijing.

This "civilized hut" urban volunteer service station in front of the east gate of Zizhuyuan Park is the only civilized hut site in Haidian District for this urban volunteer service.

With the support of Haidian District Youth Federation and Zizhuyuan Sub-district Office, 10 Taiwanese youths who studied and worked in Haidian formed the only Taiwan youth city volunteer service team in Beijing during the Winter Olympics and Winter Paralympics.

Since taking up their posts at the end of January, they have launched a variety of volunteer activities.

On March 4th, the service station held a theme activity of "Remember Lei Feng's Spirit and Experience an 'Extraordinary' Life". In addition to daily volunteer services, activities such as inheriting the Lei Feng Spirit's Oath Wall and handicapped volunteers' calligraphy display were also held.

Lin Jiaxuan, a Taiwan Youth Volunteer from the Dance Academy of Minzu University of China, introduced the Winter Paralympics knowledge to the hearing-impaired people who participated in the event in sign language.

She told reporters that during her volunteer service, she once invited a hearing-impaired couple in sign language to teach the dance of the Winter Olympics theme song "Together to the Future".

Because the couple couldn't hear the music, Lin Jiaxuan led them to dance by counting the beats.

"Although they couldn't hear it, I was moved by their enthusiasm for wanting to participate in the Winter Olympics."

Chen Wencheng, the convener of the service team and a teacher from the Department of Physical Education and Research of Peking University, told reporters that during the Winter Olympics, the team members started volunteering work on time at 10:00 every day.

With the participation of young Taiwanese volunteers, the service station is not only a platform for volunteering at the Winter Olympics and Paralympics, but also a window for cross-strait exchanges and dialogue.

"Although it is busy from morning to night, it is very worthwhile to participate in the activities to help the Winter Olympics and let the citizens feel the service and enthusiasm of Taiwan compatriots."

Xiao Jiayao said that from the training to the end of the Winter Olympics, he has a different harvest every day, and he has met many friends.

The opening of the Winter Paralympics means that the volunteer work will end in more than 10 days.

Although the hearts are unavoidable, the volunteers will continue to do every job well, and I believe that the team members can continue to serve the public after the event.
