Russia denies Egypt's seizure of its planes

The Russian Embassy in Cairo confirmed that all flights of Russian airlines from Egypt take place regularly, and that media reports about the seizure of aircraft are incorrect.

The press spokesman for the embassy, Ilya Vodianov, said in an interview with "Novosti Agency": "All flights of Russian airlines are operated on a regular basis. There were only intangible delays in taking off planes of some companies for technical reasons."

Vodianov added: "No planes were arrested or detained. The information about the seizure of any planes by the Egyptian authorities does not match the reality."

Some Russian media have previously published reports about the seizure of two Azur Air planes in Hurghada and Sharm el-Sheikh.
