"To establish payments for children from eight to 16 years old inclusive ... for all families with low incomes," Putin said in his congratulations on International Women's Day.
He noted that this measure will come into effect on April 1, and families will receive the first payments in May.
Earlier, in the Moscow region, the amount of the annual payment for foster families and guardians was increased.
