Under the Broadcasting Law, the Minister of Internal Affairs and Communications can request NHK to specify necessary matters and provide coverage and commentary on international broadcasting.
On the 7th, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications notified NHK that it would make a request for international broadcasting for the new year on the 1st of next month.

The Broadcasting Law states that NHK must endeavor to respond to these requests, while the Minister of Internal Affairs and Communications must consider NHK's editorial freedom.
