Macron: We are not at war with Russia

French President Emmanuel Macron stressed that his country is not at war with Russia, despite the economic and political pressures on it by France and European countries due to the operation in Ukraine.

Macron said, in an interview with the "LCI" channel, today, Monday: "We Europeans, as well as our allies, have responded with economic sanctions against Russia's actions in Ukraine, which we strongly condemn. We are applying diplomatic pressure in order to settle the conflict, but France is not at war with Russia, and it is important to understand this." matter."

However, Macron condemned while describing Russian President Vladimir Putin's "disregard" of "political and moral" principles when he proposed establishing humanitarian corridors for residents of several Ukrainian cities "to transport them to Russia."

"It's simply not these corridors that are important, or this hypocritical rhetoric based on saying we will protect people to take them to Russia... All this is not serious, it is an intolerable moral and political disparagement for me," he stated.

Western countries had previously imposed harsh economic sanctions on Russia, against the backdrop of its launch on February 24, of a special military operation in Ukraine.
