It was at Kalmarsund Pride's annual meeting on 27 February this year that it emerged that there are no longer enough people involved to appoint a new board.
- It feels very sad that we have made this decision.
Because I am convinced that a strong Pride movement is needed in Kalmar, says Alexander Finstad.
Only three people are required
According to Alexander Finstad, chairman since 2020, three people are needed on the board for the association to be able to move around.
Kalmarsund Pride was formed in 2015, the last chance for the association is now if enough members come to an extra annual meeting, and want to sit on the board.
Then the decision can be overturned, according to Alexander Finstad.
- To get people involved, we have sent the issue to associations, we have written on social media and to all our members, he says.
But at the moment, they see no other alternative than to close down the business.
