Croatian culture, arts and folk costumes attended, during the celebration of her country's National Day at "Expo 2020 Dubai", at Al Wasl Square, which witnessed the official ceremonies, and the raising of the flags of the United Arab Emirates and the Republic of Croatia and the playing of the national anthems of the two countries.

Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, Commissioner-General of Expo 2020 Dubai, received the Prime Minister of Croatia, Andrej Plenkovic, and the high-level government delegation accompanying him, in the presence of the Minister of State for International Cooperation and Director General of the Expo 2020 Dubai Bureau, Reem Al Hashemi, and Sheikh Shakhbut bin Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of State, and Najeeb Al-Ali, Executive Director of the Office of the Commissioner General at Expo Dubai.

Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak said: "Croatia's participation in the (Expo Dubai) highlights its position as an attractive center for innovators and visionaries who have influenced the world for centuries.

This participation also provides visitors with an opportunity to be inspired by many visions from its most prominent thinkers, and to learn about its nature, culture and many sustainable opportunities.”

In his speech on this occasion, Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak added: "The relationship between the UAE and Croatia has witnessed great momentum in the past decade, and we look forward to working closely together to strengthen partnerships between us in the commercial, political and cultural fields."

For his part, Andrei Plenkovic described Expo 2020 Dubai as a "unique event, as it showcases new ideas and technologies, contributes to promoting cultural diversity, and gives every country, regardless of its size or population, an equal opportunity to showcase its best achievements at all levels."

He pointed out that "Expo Dubai" is an engine of progress, knowledge, creativity and cooperation between countries, discussing and addressing all global issues, and building bridges for constructive discussions on sustainable development and other important topics.

Plenkovic praised the excellent organization of Expo 2020 Dubai, saying: "I would like to take this opportunity to thank the United Arab Emirates for organizing this global event, which contributes to strengthening our bilateral relations, especially with regard to building energy, infrastructure and the tourism sector."

At the end of the ceremony, one of the Croatian national bands presented a variety of lyrical and show performances, which reflect the different and diverse culture and folklore in Croatia.

The Croatian pavilion is decorated on the outside with red squares that mimic those carried by the Croatian flag, while on the inside it presents multimedia displays dealing with the cultural and natural heritage of the country, as well as works by artists, public figures and inventors from Croatia.
