Former US President Donald Trump made a "strange" statement in which he suggested the possibility of using US planes to bomb the Russian army after placing the Chinese flag on them.

“We have to put the Chinese flag on our planes (F-22), and then send them to burn the Russian army at night, and we say that China did it and not us, and they will start fighting, while we sit and watch,” Trump said during a donors’ ceremony. Post, Josh Dawsey.

Trump's proposal came Saturday evening, in an interview with Republican National Committee donors, about steps that the United States should take in response to the Russian attack on Ukraine.

The former US president added, "By placing the Chinese flag on American fighters, the United States will be able to teach Russia a lesson without taking responsibility for it at the same time."

Although Trump is no longer president of the United States, he continues to stir controversy with seemingly outlandish statements about Russia's ongoing military operations in Ukraine.

As soon as journalist Dawesi posted his tweet, thousands of Twitter users shared it, many of whom expressed relief that Trump is no longer president, saying his proposal threatens the entire world with possible global war.
