Moscow's "Aviation Park" shopping center (Aviapark) is known as one of the largest shopping centers in Europe.

The mall is home to more than 350 branded stores, more than 20 entertainment venues, and more than 50 cafes and restaurants.

The year-round ice skating rink, as well as the largest cylindrical indoor aquarium in the Guinness World Records, attracts a large number of customers every day.

Affected by the recent depreciation of the ruble, the prices of some items in the mall have been raised, including some cosmetic brands.

Since the outbreak of the Russia-Ukraine conflict, the United States and other Western countries have launched multiple rounds of economic sanctions on Russia.

Affected by this, many brand merchants in the United States and Europe recently announced that they will suspend all sales/purchasing operations in Russia, including Apple, IKEA, H&M, MANGO, etc.

According to the Russian newspaper Kommersant, IKEA has 17 stores and 8 studios in Russia, H&M has more than 150 stores, and Mango has more than 80 stores.

These companies have tens of thousands of employees locally.

The newspaper analyzed that with the withdrawal of many American and Western retailers from the Russian market, in addition to the impact on the sales volume of the merchants, the risks of their lease defaults, staff placement costs and even legal disputes have increased.

In addition, if a large number of foreign brands withdraw from the Russian market, footfall in local shopping centers will also decline.

In fact, sanctions are a "double-edged sword" that will cause huge losses to both sides.
