“The parties discussed the urgent strengthening of the defense capabilities of Ukraine, in particular in protecting the sky from Russian aircraft and missiles,” the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry said in a Telegram message.

The meeting took place on the Polish-Ukrainian border.

Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that Russia would consider the decision of any country to introduce a no-fly zone over Ukraine as participation in a military conflict.

Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky said the NATO alliance deliberately refused to close the skies over Ukraine.

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg confirmed that the alliance is not a party to the conflict in Ukraine.
