The US State Department urged Americans to leave Russia

It is noted that the "State Department re-published recommendations" in which "advises US citizens to immediately leave Russia and provides updates on the currency situation and possible delays in consular notification and access to US citizens held in Russia."

Earlier, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, said that a special flight was heading to Washington from Russia to pick up diplomats.

On February 28, Russia's Permanent Representative to the UN, Vasily Nebenzya, announced that the United States had declared 12 Russian diplomats persona non grata.
