Russia and Ukraine will hold a third round of talks on Monday

Ukraine's negotiator David Arachamia said on Facebook on Saturday, without elaborating, that Russia and Ukraine will hold a third round of talks on Monday with a view to halting hostilities.

The Russian side was less decisive, saying only that the talks might start on Monday.

The delegations of Ukraine and Russia have held two rounds of talks since Russia launched a large-scale invasion of its neighbor on Feb. 24.

On Thursday, the two sides agreed to open humanitarian corridors to allow civilians to exit some combat zones, although there have been delays in implementing that agreement.

However, Ukraine said today that the talks did not produce results, but that it will continue the negotiations.

"The third round of talks will be held on Monday," Arachmia, who is also the leader of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's party bloc in parliament, wrote.

"The third round can already be held in the coming days, and it is likely that it will be on Monday," the Russian Interfax news agency later quoted Russian negotiator Leonid Slutsky as saying.
