You may have seen them in the tracks of the Vasaloppet before.

The old work colleagues, Lars Ruberg from Gråbo and Bjarne Emanuelsson from Bollebygd, rode their first Vasaloppet on tandem skis in 1984. Over 20 races have taken place since then.

But five years ago, the duo decided that it had to be enough.

You would never ride the Vasaloppet together again, at least not on tandem skis.

Then they got an idea that.

"Many people have fun with it"

It was in the summer of 2021 that Bjarne participated in a spring race where they raised money for the Childhood Cancer Foundation.

Then came the inspiration.

Together with their faithful weapon bearer Lars, they have now started a fundraiser - for the benefit of the Childhood Cancer Foundation.

The goal is to collect SEK 100,000 with Sunday's Vasaloppet.

- We know that the skis attract quite a lot of attention.

There are many who have fun with it and who cheer on us.

So we saw a connection between the skis and collecting money for something good, says Lars.
