Restos du Cœur: despite the crisis, "the French know how to unite, come together"

It's one of the highlights of the Restos du Cœur every year, and maybe even more so this time around.

This weekend marks a new collection of foodstuffs organized in supermarkets by the association initiated by Coluche in the studios of Europe 1. And halfway through, the volunteer president of Restos du Cœur, Patrice Douret, seems reassured .

"The French have always been very generous and what is remarkable, and more than ever this year, solidarity. It's reassuring to see that the French know how to unite and come together", he explains.

"All donations are important"

Despite inflation and the increase in the cost of living (electricity, gas, fuel), the French do not lose their generosity.

And as Patrice Douret insists, every donation counts, food products, but not only.

“All donations are important, big and small. It is obvious that today, faced with people who have to choose every morning between food, heating and moving around,” he lists.

"More expensive products, such as those for hygiene and for babies, are very important in donations."

This weekend, more than 70,000 volunteers are on the ground in more than 7,000 stores.

10% of the budget generated by the Enfoirés

Without forgetting that it is also possible to contribute to the Restos du Cœur by simply buying the CD or DVD of Les Enfoirés.

"It's a support that brings the equivalent of 17 meals", specifies the president of the association.

And the latter to recall that the Enfoirés weighs for "nearly 10% of our budget and is therefore essential for all our activities".
