"International Joint Surgery": establishing a specialized center for the treatment of chronic infections in Dubai
The Ninth International Conference on Joint Surgery in the Middle East announced the direction to establish a specialized center in Dubai for the treatment of chronic infections, in cooperation with the International Commission for Inflammatory Diseases and the Purvizi Surgical Institute of Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, USA.
The conference confirmed that this center will have a major role in attracting medical tourism to the UAE in general and Dubai in particular, noting that the UAE was chosen to host this center because of the great facilities provided by the government in addition to the distinguished infrastructure.
Dr. Samih Al-Tarabishi, Conference Chairman, Consultant Orthopedic Surgery at Burjeel Hospital for Advanced Surgery in Dubai, said in statements to reporters on the sidelines of the second day of the conference: “This center will be one of the few centers globally specialized in the field of infections for complex and chronic cases, and will use the latest technology in the world, such as compressed oxygen. ".
He stressed that the recovery rate in the event of specialized treatment being available, is a high rate despite the difficult cases, as they will be treated in an advanced professional and specialized manner, noting that the center will include medical and technical staff specialized in inflammatory infections, as well as provide psychological treatments to patients if necessary.
He stated that the techniques used in the center will be very advanced, some of which are based on the latest scientific innovations, stressing that the center will reduce amputations of organs from patients' body, and reduce travel for treatment abroad.
The activities of the ninth session of the International Conference on Orthopedic Surgery in the Middle East 2022, under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, will be held at the Jumeirah Emirates Towers Hotel, in the presence of 1,200 orthopedic and joint replacement doctors from all over the world. the scientist.
The activities of the second day of the conference today, Saturday, witnessed panel discussions, research papers and reports dealing with modern surgical techniques and developments related to shoulder, hip, knee, ankle and sports surgeries, in addition to providing interactive sessions with experts and specialists, an anatomy laboratory and a nursing program accompanying the conference.
On Sunday, the conference concludes its activities. On its third and final day, the conference will discuss technological developments and introduce modern techniques in the field of joint surgery, such as joint design, the use of 3D printers, and innovation in robotic surgeries. .
