How do you find yourself in this competition for Eurovision?

My producer called me, in August, to ask me if I was interested in taking part in this

contest .

I was delighted because it is a program that I loved to watch in my youth.

But it needed an unreleased song.

However, I had just released an EP a few months before.

So I took advantage of my holidays in Biarritz to record

with my guitar and my little studio, while my friends were at the beach.

Are you surprised to find yourself among the finalists?

I'm very happy to have been selected from among 3,000 songs submitted.

A first selection was made in January.

We found ourselves at 25 in front of a jury in a theater to see our performance on stage, because the visual is very important at Eurovision.

Whether it's me or someone else who represents France, I would really like us to win.

It's been such a long time.

What is your musical background?

I am a self-taught artist.

I don't know music theory, I do everything by ear.

When I was in college, I used to get everyone drunk by playing fashionable songs on the recorder.

My music teacher wanted me to enroll in the conservatory, but I preferred to keep this independence.

The common thread of my music is emotion.

For example, when I learned of the death of my mother's best friend.

I didn't know what to say, I was stuck.

So I took my guitar.

The melody came and the lyrics with it.

As surprising as it may seem, you don't live from your music...

No.

I still practice the profession of dental surgeon in the metropolis of Lille.

As with my songs, I try to bring smiles back to my office.

I did little stage, a few castings for telecrochet shows, but it never worked.

I'm not comfortable with this format of interpreting other people's songs.

How did you get a foothold in the professional world?

My first track was born during confinement: a tribute song to my grandmother

, which I posted on social media.

It interested the Jo & Co label where I signed my first EP.

In the process, I promoted in April 2021 on France 2 with Laurent Ruquier and Michel Drucker.

It was like in a dream.

What are your influences ?

I was surrounded by strong women: my mother, her friend who was a ray of sunshine and my grandmother with whom I lived for ten years when I was studying medicine in Lille.

These are my life influences.

Musically, my mother listened to French variety.

I was rocked by Brel.

Later I listened to rock, from Radiohead to Oasis to Red Hot Chili Peppers.

These melodies that stay in the head.

The urban touch of my music, I owe it to my brother who was a fan of the group IAM.

", where does she come from ?

I would like to transmit the virus of the smile just as contagious as the Covid, but positive.

It is a universal message, understood by everyone around the world.

I also want to send a message.

I didn't have an easy childhood.

My parents separated very early.

My mother found herself alone, unemployed with three children.

My smile helped me when I was young.

I used this strength.

When you become an adult, you lose a bit of that candor.

That's a shame.
