Russian deputies adopted this Friday a text that provides harsh prison sentences and fines for those who publish "false information" about the army, in the midst of the invasion of Ukraine by Russian forces.

This amendment, adopted in third reading by the Duma, provides for various prison sentences that can go up to 15 years if "false information" has "serious consequences" for the armed forces.
