Russian restaurants in America are exposed to threats and acts of sabotage

Russian restaurants in the United States are facing increasing threats, harassment and acts of sabotage, due to the Russian war on Ukraine, according to American media.

Russian restaurants in America were subjected to smashing their windows or writing anti-Russian letters on their walls, in addition to threatening calls received by restaurant owners, and some of them even threatened to blow up one of them.

According to "Sky News Arabia".

The owner of the Russia House and Lounge in Washington, D.C., told local media that his restaurant was vandalized twice last weekend.

He added that he had received some "hate calls", stressing that his restaurant had "nothing to do" with the war on Ukraine, and that it was owned by an American company.

As for the city of San Diego, California, the owner of the Pushkin Russian restaurant said that the threats increased with the continuation of the Russian war on Ukraine, including the threat to blow up his restaurant.

He explained that people have been evaluating his restaurant on the Internet with only one star, commenting that his restaurant "supports the Russian invasion."

But the owner of the restaurant denied this, and said that it "disturbed him and vice versa."

"I donated money to the Ukrainian cause and gave money to restaurant workers to send to their loved ones in Ukraine," he added.

These actions prompted the owner of the restaurant “The Russian House of Austin” in Austin, Texas, to delete the word “Russian” from the name of the restaurant.

He said this was to show "solidarity with Ukraine".

"I am doing this for the people of Russia, because there are many people who do not want this war," he added.

"I'm doing this for the people of Austin, because they need to know where we stand and really understand who we are," he said.
