China News Service, March 4. According to Japan's "Chinese Herald" report, on March 3, local time, the Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, the Immigration and Residence Administration Department, and the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism jointly issued the "Smooth Entry Plan for International Students", and plans to gradually accept and wait. The 150,000 foreign students enrolled in the program entered the country.

The specific policies are as follows:

Regarding the review of border measures, the following border measures will be taken.

  1. Increase the total number of entries

Regarding the cap on the total number of people entering the country, it is currently 5,000 per day and will increase to 7,000 from March 14.

  2. Stable acceptance of foreign students

In order to receive international students with priority and stability, the following measures are taken:

  (1) For international students, the government has set up the "Smooth Entry Plan for International Students" and steadily implemented the priority entry plan.

  (2) Domestic airlines, mainly from Monday to Thursday, have fewer business customers.

The government will get the cooperation of airlines. For international students who want to take a certain flight, which are concentrated in universities and other institutions that accept international students, they will be treated separately from the general boarding limit of each flight. International students will be able to use vacant seats, making it possible for international students to enter the country smoothly.

  (3) This plan is aimed at universities, high schools, Japanese language education institutions, etc.

  (4) The plan is scheduled to start around mid-March, when the demand is highest, before the start of the new semester in April. The support centers of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology and the Immigration and Residence Administration will grasp the needs of international students such as universities and Japanese language education institutions.

Implemented in partnership with airlines.

  (5) Temporarily apply to flights until the end of May.
