This appointment came as a surprise because he is a man who is not well known to the public.

Albert Ouédraogo, the new Prime Minister of Burkina, is a technocrat.

Doctor in economics, he taught for several years at the University of Ouagadougou, according to his LinkedIn profile, before joining the private sector.

He has notably worked for auditing and consulting firms, including the prestigious Deloitte, a British international firm.

The official biography published by the presidency emphasizes his experience in public administration and his financial management skills.

From the day of his inauguration, Lieutenant-Colonel Damiba also ordered a general audit of public finances.

“

We need a vision for the country

With this appointment, the new president of

Burkina Faso

maintains the course he had set for himself: to move away from the political field and leave current affairs to the men in charge.

A choice that leaves some perplexed.

"

The advent of technocracy does not start today, among Roch's prime ministers, two out of three were technocrats and they failed

," says a civil society actor

There is no nation without politics.

We need a vision for the country

,” criticizes a former member of the opposition.

The composition of the government is now highly anticipated.

The transition charter, signed on Monday, provides for 25 portfolios.
