With its silky threads, the "Rashtizadeh" carpet attracts visitors to the Iranian pavilion in the transportation area of ​​"Expo 2020 Dubai".

According to officials in the pavilion, “Rashtizadeh” is one of the most ancient and beautiful pieces of carpet, as it was woven by hand in 1956 in the city of Qom in nine dazzling colors dominated by red, yellow, brown, blue and green, and its estimated price is two million dirhams.

The ancient carpet measures 43.62 square feet, is 171 cm wide, and 237 cm long, and was woven in 4,992 hours over 77 months.

The carpet is characterized by various designs and drawings, and contains 2,080 knots in length and 1,500 in width, bringing the total knots to more than 3,500 knots.

In addition to "Rashtizadeh", Iran's pavilion includes other ancient carpets, as this industry has a long history in this country, and is characterized by a special luster and various subtle shapes with distinct designs and unique colors, including turquoise.

Iranian carpets are considered one of the most important and most expensive types of handmade carpets, which are made of wool, silk and rare cotton grown in that country, in addition to the many knots used in weaving, drawings and designs, in which unique colors of distinctive luster are used.

Among the well-known types of Iranian carpets are Isfahan, Kerman, Shiraz, and Tabriz, which are names that belong to the regions of their production, and each of them has a special character.

The pavilion also includes a mixture of traditional and modern architecture, and showcases the Iranian economy, social development, and the country's culture.

It highlights the ancient Iranian civilization, traditions, rituals and people.

To cool off the pavilion's exterior space are tiny streams inspired by the ancient civic architecture of that country.
