A “traumatic” hypothesis

The corpse will also be examined.

Investigators favor the suicide hypothesis, said the deputy prosecutor, who described this track as "particularly traumatic for the family".

Christian Rophille, mayor of Saint-Martin-Bellevue, visited the relatives of the child to assure them of his support and that of the town.

"It's a blow to the head, we feel totally helpless in the face of this kind of drama," he commented.

The emergency services had been notified as soon as the body was discovered, but they could only confirm the death of the victim.
