Three burglars arrested thanks to the vigilance of local residents

Three men were given a six-month suspended prison sentence on Tuesday at the Digne-les-Bains court (Alpes-de-Haute-Provence).

They admitted to having participated in two burglaries near Manosque and to having got their hands on jewelry as well as watches, specifies

The suspects were arrested on Monday thanks to the vigilance of residents.

The latter had spotted their presence as they drove through the streets of Pierrevert by car, said the gendarmes of the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence on Facebook.

The intervention of the municipal police and then that of the gendarmerie had allowed the custody of the three thieves.

Jewelry and personal effects were returned to the victims.
