Leading fuel chains are raising the prices of both petrol and diesel to record levels.

Petrol prices are increased by 55 öre per liter, while diesel is increased by more than one kroner.

The price of petrol is now SEK 20.95 per liter, the average in February a year ago was SEK 15.10.

The diesel price is SEK 24.37 per liter.

A year ago, the price of a ring was SEK 15.60 per liter.

The shock increase in fuel prices is related to the sharp rise in crude oil prices.

Since Russia invaded Ukraine, oil prices have risen to their highest level in eight years.

A barrel of North Sea oil on Thursday costs around 118 dollars per barrel, an increase of 77 percent in one year.
