This time, it's official !
Although war is raging in Ukraine, Emmanuel Macron was forced to formalize his candidacy for the 2022 presidential election on Thursday. A few hours before the deadline for submitting sponsorships to the Constitutional Council, the president is ending a false suspense and solicits, in a
Letter to the French,
published this Thursday evening, their "confidence for a new mandate of President of the Republic".
“I am a candidate to invent with you, in the face of the challenges of the century, a unique French and European response.
I am a candidate to defend our values that the disruptions of the world threaten.
I am a candidate to continue to prepare the future of our children and our grandchildren, ”writes the president.
Investing in nuclear power, old age and education
The favorite in the polls promises to continue working on "lower taxes" and to fight against inequality.
Emmanuel Macron evokes a "productive reconquest through work", which will go through investments in innovation and research to place France at the head of sectors such as nuclear, space or renewable energies.
The current tenant of the Elysée also promises that priority will be given to the school and to the teachers who will be "better paid".
He indicates that investments will be made for Justice, the police, as well as for old age, in order to "live old age at home" and "make retirement homes more humane".
If elected, he assures that he will tackle medical deserts and the inclusion of people with disabilities.
Like a small tackle to one of his now official opponents, Eric Zemmour, Emmanuel Macron recalls in his letter that for him "the challenge is to build the France of our children, not to rehash the France of our childhood".
