(Express for the two sessions) Ma Jie, deputy to the National People's Congress: "Tian Kun No. 2" plans to launch in the near future

China News Agency, Beijing, March 3 (Ma Shuisha and Huang Yuqin) Ma Jie, deputy to the National People's Congress and secretary of the Party Committee of the Second Academy of China Aerospace Science and Industry Corporation, said in Beijing that "Tiankun 2" has entered the final stage of commissioning and is scheduled to launch in the near future.

The satellite not only inherits the high functional density of the "Tiankun-1" satellite, but also has the advantages of lower cost and smaller size. This flight test will verify a number of key technologies such as the overall micro-nano satellite platform.

"Tiankun 1" and "Tiankun 2" were both developed by the Second Academy of China Aerospace Science and Industry Corporation.

In March 2017, China Aerospace Science and Industry Corporation's first independently developed satellite "Tiankun-1" was successfully launched, expanding the spectrum of China's small low-orbit universal satellite platform.

As of February 2022, "Tiankun-1" has generated about 80GB of telemetry data, received and processed about 58,000 ground commands, completed about 7,300 satellite-to-ground monitoring and control, and will continue to serve overtime.

On March 3, "Tiankun-1" also ushered in the "birthday" of its fifth anniversary on orbit.

Under the successful experience of "Tiankun-1", China's first low-orbit broadband satellite Internet test satellite developed by the second institute was launched into orbit in December 2018.

Based on this satellite, the Second Academy has further mastered the technologies related to the transparent forwarding of satellite Internet, such as the overall Internet satellite, on-board Ka phased array antennas, phased array user terminals, and transparent transmission system communication protocols, and has successively carried out "sensor network space-based" technologies. Demonstration applications such as "backhaul", "satellite Internet + 4G + short-wave ad hoc network" multi-network integration, "satellite Internet + 5G + Internet of Things" maritime integration network test, and "5G + high and low orbit satellite Internet" business integration.

Ma Jie said that in order to meet the growing needs of constellation construction, the Second Institute is tasked with meeting the needs of rapid production and rapid deployment of low-orbit satellite constellations, focusing on the key links in the satellite design and production process, and has built a China Satellite Industrial Park in Wuhan Satellite Industrial Park. The first small satellite intelligent production line will be completed in May 2021 and fully put into use.

It is reported that the production line is mainly characterized by "flexible intelligence, digital twinning, and cloud manufacturing", covering the entire industrial chain of satellite design and development, manufacturing, measurement and control, and operation and maintenance services. 11 key technologies such as construction technology have been adopted, the productivity of personnel has been increased by more than 3 times, and the integration test time of single-star assembly and integration has been shortened by more than 80%.
