  Macron released a "Letter to the French People" through a number of French media that night, announcing that he was officially running for re-election as French President.

According to the electoral procedure, Macron must declare his campaign status to the French Constitutional Council 4 days ago.

  In "Letter to the French People", Macron briefly reviewed the main achievements of his five years as president, pointing out that the unemployment rate fell to the lowest level in 15 years, the fiscal deficit was reduced before the epidemic; the French military was strengthened. At the same time, France reduced its dependence on fossil fuels; the modernization of agriculture continued.

  Macron spoke of the challenges facing the country, noting that "we face many tests together": terrorism, epidemics, wars in Europe, etc.

He said he was a presidential candidate to meet the challenge and to prepare our children and grandchildren for the future.

  Macron has several goals for the future of work.

He said that France should take the lead in renewable energy, nuclear energy, agriculture and other fields; France should get rid of its dependence on natural gas, oil and coal; make France one of the countries with the highest birth rate in Europe.

He called on the French people to work with him to turn the current crisis into the beginning of a new era for France and Europe.

  The current French presidential election is scheduled for the first round of elections on April 10, and the second round of elections on April 24.

If no one obtains an absolute majority in the first round of elections, a second round of elections will be held, in which one of the top two candidates who have the lead in the first round of elections will be elected as president.

  According to the latest Ifop poll released on the 3rd, Macron ranked first with 28% in the first round of voting, and far-right party candidate Marine Le Pen ranked second with 17%. In third place is the French Republican presidential candidate Pecques, whose approval rate is 14%.

  Macron was born in Amiens, a city in northern France, in 1977. He graduated from the University of Paris X, Sciences Po, and the French National School of Administration. He has served as Deputy Secretary-General of the French Presidential Palace and Minister of Economy, Industry and Digital Affairs of France.

In May 2017, Macron was elected the eighth and eleventh president of the French Fifth Republic.
