Monaco thus retains eighth place and the last qualifier for the play-offs, but this fourteenth defeat (for 14 victories) weakens its position.

The Roca Team remained on two convincing victories at home, against Kazan (79-76), then against Fenerbahçe (92-78).

Barça, on the other hand, twice titled in the Euroleague, consolidates its first place with this 21st victory (and only 5 defeats), the fifth in a row.

Just before kick-off at the Palau Blaugrana, a large banner reading 'Stop The War' was unfurled and held up by the players of both teams as well as the trio of referees, including the 'Ukrainian Borys Ryzhyk.

The two teams were tied at the end of a first quarter during which the team from the Principality was able to respond blow for blow to its opponent (20-20).

Things then got a little complicated for Sasa Obradovic's men, led 42-36 at the break before a good reaction in the third act, finished with a delay of four points (66-62) thanks to two last baskets at three points scored by Dwayne Bacon.

In the final quarter, Monaco even managed to equalize at 68 everywhere and even came close to taking the lead, but Lithuanian pivot Donatas Motiejunas missed his two free throws.

The Australian Dante Exum was the match's top scorer with 22 points, ahead of Monegasques Mike James (19), Dwayne Bacon (16) and Donatas Motiejunas (14).
