Around 2,000 immigrants of sub-Saharan origin have tried to enter Melilla this Wednesday in the most numerous jump to the border fence in years, and several dozen of them have achieved their goal, according to police sources, although at the moment the specific number is unknown.
In statements to journalists, the Government delegate in Melilla,
Sabrina Moh
, reported that this attempted entry occurred around 9:30 in the morning, in broad daylight, in a section of the fence quite extension to be "such a large number" of immigrants.
Although the Moroccan forces have tried to stop the jump and the Civil Guard has been activated immediately, several dozen Sub-Saharans have managed to enter Melilla and have rushed to the
Temporary Immigrant Stay Center
(CETI), which was currently registering a low occupancy of barely fifty people.
