Fredsbaskrarna Örebro is a local association in the Swedish Veterans Association.
They are not alone in organizing a local demonstration to show support and solidarity with Ukraine.
Similar demonstrations will take place around the country on Wednesday.
- What I see on TV now, it evokes memories and it makes you feel strongly that we have to do something.
The association must act and gather strength, says Micke Blomqvist, who is chairman of Fredsbaskrarna Örebro.
"Everyone can do something"
The association's members will gather at 6 pm at Stortorget in Örebro.
Invited politicians, the local association for the UN and the Red Cross will also be present.
The public is also welcome to participate in the event.
Micke Blomqvist hopes that many will quit.
- We veterans usually say: "No one can do everything, but everyone can do something."
