Five years ago, Erik Lundberg from Arvidsjaur retired and then his interest in birds took off.

- As a pensioner, you should do something to stay fresh.

Sitting in front of the TV and waiting for the last rest is not good.

I was quite good at painting as a child.

Since then, I have always been interested in birds, animals and nature, he says.

A hunt for motive

Erik Lundberg is not the only one who feeds the birds near Byskeälven, even Samuel Berggren likes to go there to meet his animal friends.

- Here we conduct some form of hunting.

We hunt nice pictures and unlike other hunts, the birds can keep their lives, says Berggren.

“Smorgasbord might give a dot in the sky

During the autumn before winter comes, friends Lundberg and Berggren can spend half the day feeding the birds, which are relatively expensive to operate.

- While we sit and talk to the birds, we have to refill the bird feeders.

The birds are expensive, but you can not take anything to the other side.

It is just as good to invite the birds to a smorgasbord because then you might get a dot in the sky, says Samuel Berggren.

See friends tame the birds

What birds are you feeding?

- Now we feed mostly pine tits and lichen screams, but there are also gray herons, tufted tits and nutcrackers who want food, says Samuel Berggren to SVT.

In the clip, you see when friends feed lichen crickets by the Byske River.
