Saif bin Zayed leads the UAE delegation at the meeting of the Council of Arab Interior Ministers in Tunisia

The President of the Tunisian Republic, Qais Saeed, received yesterday Lieutenant-General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, as part of the official reception ceremony at the Presidential Palace in Carthage, which was hosted by the President for Arab Interior Ministers who held a meeting in Tunis.

In the presence of representatives of the League of Arab States, the International Criminal Police Organization “Interpol”, the Arab Maghreb Union, and the European Union, the Council discussed the report of the Secretary-General of the Council on the work of the General Secretariat between the thirty-eighth and thirty-ninth sessions of the Council and the report of the President of Naif Arab University for Security Sciences on the work of the League Between the thirty-eighth and thirty-ninth sessions of the Council, in addition to the launch of the website of the human rights bodies in the Arab Ministries of Interior, in addition to a number of other important topics.

His Highness had arrived in Tunis and was received by Tawfiq Sharaf El-Din, Tunisian Minister of Interior and Secretary-General of the Council of Arab Interior Ministers, Muhammad Koman, and Rashid Muhammad Al-Mansoori, the country's ambassador to the Republic of Tunisia.

The participating UAE delegation included, in addition to His Highness Rashid Mohammed Al Mansouri, the country's ambassador to Tunisia, Major General Khalifa Hareb Al Khaili, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior, Major General Dr. Ahmed Nasser Al Raisi, Inspector General of the Ministry, Major General Sheikh Mohammed bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan, Director of the Security and Ports Affairs Sector at Abu Dhabi Police, and a number of officers.

On the other hand, General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, met with Moroccan Interior Minister Abdelwafi Laftit, on the sidelines of the 39th session of the Arab Interior Ministers, which is being held in Tunis.

During the meeting, they discussed ways to enhance the paths of joint cooperation existing between the two brotherly countries, the UAE and the Kingdom of Morocco, as well as ways to enhance joint Arab action in the police and security fields.

His Highness also met with Iraqi Interior Minister Othman Al-Ghanimi, on the sidelines of the session, and they discussed ways to enhance cooperation between the two brotherly countries, the UAE and Iraq, in the security and police fields. The two sides stressed the importance of continuing Arab meetings in order to enhance Arab coordination and cooperation in all fields.

General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, also met the Egyptian Minister of Interior, Major General Mahmoud Tawfiq, on the sidelines of the 39th session of the Arab Interior Ministers, and they discussed ways to enhance the distinguished relations between the two brotherly countries, the UAE and the Arab Republic of Egypt, and ways to advance them.
