The second round of talks between Russia and Ukraine, which was scheduled to be held on the night of the 2nd local time, has been postponed to the 3rd.

The arrival of the Ukrainian delegation to the meeting point was delayed in the process of securing a safe route.

TAS news agency reported that Russian delegation head Vladimir Medinsky, aide to President Vladimir Medinsky, met with reporters at a meeting in Belarus on the evening of the same day and said that "a Ukrainian delegation is coming to the meeting from Kiiu."

"Russia has provided a safe passage for the Ukrainian delegation," Medinsky said.

He further explained, "The composition of the Russian delegation is the same as in the first meeting, and the issue of a ceasefire and a safe evacuation route will be discussed."

The second meeting will be held at the 'Belavesz Forest' in Brest Province, southwestern Belarus, bordering Poland.

This was the villa of the former Soviet leadership, and in 1991, the heads of the three Soviet republics, including President Boris Yeltsin of Russia, President of Ukraine Leonid Kravchuk, and Chairman of the Supreme Council of the Republic of Belarus, Stanislav Shushkevic, gathered to establish the Soviet Union. It is also the place where an agreement was signed to disband and establish the 'Coalition of Independent States'.
