More than 1,000 East Goths have taken drone cards

Vadstena is the municipality with the most drone cards per 10,000 inhabitants - 33.

This appears in statistics produced by the Swedish Transport Agency and published by the news agency Siren.

In Sweden, about 23,000 people have taken the card, most in Stockholm.

On the national top list, Linköping ends up in 10th place and Norrköping in 14th with 324 drone cards.

Laws and regulations

Common EU rules were introduced on 1 January 2021 and they mean that the person responsible for flight must register as an operator and the pilot must obtain a drone card via an internet training.

- It is important to get the basic knowledge on how to fly safely.

Otherwise, you can end up in situations where you violate the Aviation Act or the Public Order Act, says Tobias Fridarve, coordinator for drone issues at the Swedish Transport Agency, to Siren.

On Gotland, 112 people have taken the drone card.
