Imprisonment and a fine of 500,000 dirhams, the penalty for incitement to not comply with the legislation

Legal Counsel, Dr. Youssef Al-Sharif, warned against incitement not to comply with the legislation, as the penalty for this is imprisonment and a fine of up to 500,000 dirhams, according to the Rumors and Cybercrime Law.

Al-Sharif called on individuals to be careful and not to be drawn into or believe in the interpretation of laws or criticism on incorrect grounds, and to incite not to submit to them, as some may interpret information in a wrong way, which may be incitement to the texts of the law, that would expose owner to be punished.

He cautioned that the legislator set a penalty for anyone who called or incited, by publishing information on the information network, or an information technology means, not to comply with the legislation in force in the country, with imprisonment and a fine of not less than 100,000 dirhams, and not more than 500 thousand dirhams, or one of these two penalties.
